Financial Controller - Live Music

Leading live entertainment and content companies, creating and producing global events and festivals are looking for a strong Financial Controller to make their stamp on a developing finance function.

Role:

  • The Financial Controller will be responsible for day to day running of the core finance function

  • Document and build policies and procedures around finance processes and controls

  • Manage the junior members of the team, including working on their continuous development, clearly defining roles and responsibilities across your team

  • Month-end reporting including preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Working with the commercial finance team to produce quarterly reporting with variance analysis and commentaries

  • Multi-currency reporting for overseas entities and events

  • Consolidation of Group entities

  • Working with third party providers for payroll, tax and some accounting services

  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts and management of audit

  • Preparation of VAT returns and dealing with HMRC

  • Support Head of FInance with cash forecasting and cashflow management

  • Support the Head of Finance, CFO and Directors with any ad hoc analysis and reporting

  • Continuous process improvement

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACCA)

  • Experience in a music, media or creative industry organisation

  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong people management experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Passion for well organised systems and implementing processes

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Pro-active, positive attitude

  • Must have great attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

  • Experience dealing with international subsidiaries and foreign currency payments

  • Demonstrate experience of project accounting
