Commercial Analyst - Entertainment - Central London

A growing Events business are looking for a permanent Commercial Analyst to join the team! This commercial analyst will be responsible for taking a brief or information provided in relation to any sales opportunities and input the information into the company's bespoke costing module to generate a commercial proposal under guidance from the company directors. Your day to do will be using the company's historical data to forecast revenues, whilst apportioning costs in order to achieve and profit and loss position for the proposed event.

We are looking for a commercially minded, analytical professional who is able to manipulate large amounts of data and someone with confident Microsoft Excel skills. We are open to your background as long as you are driven by results and eager to get going!

Key responsibilities:

  • Extract and communicate key information from tender documents to ensure all budgetary items are accounted for
  • Utilise the team's experience and draw on historical data to project attendances, spend per head and event revenues according to the opportunity
  • Analyse hourly data to understanding the peak spending times
  • Work alongside the Project Managers to capture all projected costs related to the event
  • Contact suppliers for quotes
  • Ad hoc tasks as required
  • Ensuring all data within the costing module is accurate and kept up to date - for example staffing rates or supplier standard cost
  • Constantly improving the costing modules metrics using up to date data and insight
  • Work with the New Business team to decide the best commercial model for the proposal
  • Spend time with the senior team to apply sensitivities to risk and break-even positions
  • Generate commercial deals for sign off from the Directors
  • Presenting key data trends for the sales teams to use in proposals
  • Communicating data findings to non-data users in a clear and concise way
  • Producing YOY variation reports and providing commentary where relevant
  • Continually building and developing historical data sets to assist with future planning

Key skills:

  • High attention to detail with an anayltical mindset
  • Prior experience in an analytical position (a minimum of 1 year)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Considerably strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to business partner with both internal and external teams
  • Ability to handle large sets of data
