Exciting financial accountant opportunity has arisen with one of the world largest publishing companies.
We are looking for a bright, hardworking, self-sufficient individual, who has great attention to detail and communication skills. Qualified ACA (or equivalent) is a must, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience. In this role you will be working closely with the wider and global finance team and reporting directly into the UK head of central finance, whilst also working in close proximity with the other head of departments to give them an understanding on the financial performance of their department, along with opportunity for involvement in systems implementation and upgrades.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately prepare management accounts for the UK's central functions, working with the teams to ensure the best practice accounting policies are followed.
Being responsible for annual budgeting and forecasting process, including forecast revisions throughout the year
Providing accurate management analysis and support in a timely manner and identifying issues including any deviations from budgets and forecast revisions.
Monthly reconciliation and monitoring balance sheet accounts.
Prepare quarterly VAT returns
Assisting with the statutory accounts preparation
Responsible for a number of European & International inter-company accounts transactions and reporting.
Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all reporting
Support with annual audit process
Management and mentoring for 1-2 junior staff members
Providing financial and business expertise for other ad-hoc projects
Ad hoc analysis for senior management team.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate degree in relevant field
Qualified in ACA or equivalent
3-5 years relevant accounting experience
Excellent communication skills along with fantastic influencing and interpersonal skills with a pro-active approach to challenges
Able to think out of the box with the ability to use your financial skills to assist the development and growth of the business.
Fantastic attention to detail
Good ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Able to deliver information with clarity and appropriate to specific audiences.
