Management Accountant - TV & Film

This is a great opportunity to join a high-end drama company during a period of rapid growth. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work closely with the Head of Production, external legal support, and the creative team across the full range of activity within the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Alongside the Head of Finance assist in the submission of month end reporting requirements
  • General month end responsibilities, including reviewing fixed assets and depreciation, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accrual and prepayment postings, ad-hoc journals and bank reconciliations
  • Update monthly cash flow forecast with actuals reconciling to net cash movement
  • Maintain central staff salaries forecast
  • Preparation of group VAT returns to HMRC and dealing with all HMRC correspondence
  • Internal update reporting on outstanding Broadcaster invoices
  • Preparation and tracking of all Broadcaster invoices, interacting with the Production Accountant and Business Affairs to ensure milestones have been met to enable prompt invoicing
  • Assistance in the preparation of distribution revenues and payaway reporting
  • Assistance on completion of annual external audit, internal audit and tax credit audits
  • Set up of bank accounts
  • Maintenance of Sage Accounting system
  • Support to Finance and Production teams on Sage and Production Accounting Software
  • Provide support and cover to the wider team as required

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Newly qualified (CIMA or ACCA preferable)
  • Demonstrable experience of TV production advantageous or passion for scripted content
  • Experience of PMI accounting production and accounting system would be highly advantageous
  • Must be a self-starter who can prioritise and work independently to very tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary production team
  • Willingness to progress career and develop new skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Sage.
