Software Engineer (Frontend)
We are working with a very well-known media/entertainment brand, looking to add a software engineer to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a new site from scratch for a very well-known brand, seeing it through to commercial launch. You will be a part of a tight knit team of 7, who are all passionate about building and delivering a product they are proud of. You'll take a lead role in developing the web front-end of the service, and will be given clear status updates at every step.
The role:
- Taking a lead role developing the web front-end of subscription service and its onboarding journeys
- Using your knowledge of web development best practices to deliver high quality, performant code that incorporates accessibility from the outset
- Automate the optimisation, bundling and testing of your code in preparation for production release
- Work alongside our other developers, designer and product manager to actively shape and steer the development backlog
Requirements:
You will have demonstrable experience developing and maintaining high quality web applications in a commercial setting. Your work will have been integrated with CMS, CRM, authentication and payments platforms.
You must have expert knowledge of developing applications using HTML, Javascript and CSS on a PHP-based template engine such asWordpress or Laravel (blade).
You will know about production asset build strategies and know how to get the most out of bundlers such as WebPack or Gulp.
In addition, it will be highly beneficial to your application if you have hands-on experience with:
- Asset build strategies and asset bundlers e.g. webpack, gulp
- Page load/SEO optimization techniques
- Integration with iOS/Android applications and installable PWAs
- Web accessibility
- Integration with Stripe Card Elements
- Laravel /Wordpress application development
