Job Description

Are you passionate about documentaries? If so this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Our client is one of the world's leading international distributors of award-winning factual content, specialising in both theatrical and TV hour documentaries. It has a diverse catalogue, from festival hits to hot current affairs investigations. The company is a multi-platform specialist covering all markets worldwide, including broadcast, digital, theatrical, home entertainment and educational. It also offers one of the most progressive and innovative release strategies around.

The Role:

The company acquires critically-successful, top festival and TV docs throughout the year. Your role will be to pursue and secure distribution rights to these new films; developing relationships with filmmakers, keeping abreast of festival releases and upcoming projects in development.

You will be the main point of contact for rights holders, keeping them informed of sales activity on their films as required and handling any other necessary communications.
The role also involves overseeing the editorial presentation and release of each documentary across multiple platforms, working closely with the digital department each week. You will also work closely with the publicity team to drive relevant promotion of any new releases.

The role will involve short-term travel to international film festivals throughout the year.

The ideal candidate:

A lover of documentaries! You will need to have strong communication skills, be highly organised, a self-starter, able to coordinate a complex agenda effectively without direction and relish the challenge of being part of a busy team and a growing company.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone. If you have not heard from us within 5 working days of sending your CV then unfortunately you have not been shortlisted for the position you have applied for.
