Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to join this leading Home Entertainment Distributor. As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new retail DVD opportunities with UK and Irish retailers, to convince prospects, agree initial launch plans and successfully implement the offer in stores.


* Identify new retail opportunities
* Cold call to secure contact details and initial meetings
* Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective customers to include sales forecast, business plan and P&L
* Forecast as required by the Bus Dev team
* Attend regular sales and marketing meetings
* Identify new product development opportunities
* Maintain new and existing account business plans and P&Ls
* Deliver the business plan in both revenue and margin terms at least for the first 12 months
* Utilise the expertise of the category and vendor managed inventory teams to deliver results
* Complete regular store visits to ensure that a high level of market knowledge is maintained
* Manage selected national accounts
* Ensure accounts are kept up to date with any markdowns, Epos credits or financial adjustments
* Utilise the expertise of the vendor managed inventory teams to deliver first class results


* Excellent knowledge of UK retail landscape
* Assertive networker who builds relationships with both internal and external customers
* Persuasive negotiator with track record of success in cold-calling, setting up and closing deals
* Experienced and credible presenter who can interpret, assess and translate data to both internal and external customers
* Able to conceive and develop innovative opportunities and sell the concept to key retailers
* Profit conscious with experience of managing a P&L as well as producing sales and margin forecasts
* Solution orientated, commercially focused and deadline driven
* Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
* Track record of successful project management within a team
* Experience of managing multiple 3rd parties
* Has sold to board level
* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

*Retailing experience - in store or head office buying/cat management
*FMCG sales / territory manager experience either field based or in head office
