Our client is an award-winning technology company which includes amongst its customers some of the largest blue-chip organisations across the globe.
Experiencing remarkable growth since its inception, bringing legal expertise in-house is a critical response to the challenges of moving to the next stage of their development. This is a newly created role, providing an opportunity for a commercially minded, technically excellent lawyer with the desire to work within a challenging but progressive environment.
Reporting directly to the CFO, but working closely with the Sales and Professional Services teams, the successful candidate will be the sole in-house legal resource, charged with reviewing and negotiating contract terms with numerous clients as the business continues to expand rapidly.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: owning the client contract templates and standards for each subsidiary globally, ensuring compliance with contracting requirements; working closely with sales teams, negotiating and drafting suitable amendments to standard contracts, and ensuring the company's commercial exposure is managed; liaising with external legal partners across the world; and providing and coordinating other legal advice as required, including in respect to IPR, Employment, Property, Data Protection and Corporate law.
More information will be made available upon request by suitable candidates.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic record; be qualified to practice law with c.4yrs+ PQE* at a well-established law firm, preferably qualifying into TMT. You should consider yourself to be a 'commercial lawyer', with experience negotiating and drafting technology-related contracts, and ideally with exposure to SaaS agreements. Equally importantly, you must have the confidence to work in a hugely visible role where you'll be trusted by some of the company's most senior executives to provide commercially sound advice on a daily basis.
*NB: PQE levels are offered as a guide only. Our clients will accept applications from all candidates who can demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
