Our client, a global brand that's synonymous with championing consumers and disrupting businesses, is currently searching for a Legal Counsel who's looking for a highly visible, strategic role in a legal team operating at the heart of the business.
Whilst the brand is known the world over, the role is within a new part of the business so you'll have the chance to play a part in building something almost from the ground up. So whilst technical experience might get you through the door, to really thrive in this role you'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, have high energy, be self-motivated, and be delivery focused.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: working closely with the Head of Legal to build the legal function; partnering with the business on the provision of high quality legal support in relation to all technology, digital and data supply, procurement, outsourcing, innovation and other similar contracts; advising on a broad range of other commercial contracts and legal matters such as supplier arrangements, partnerships, GDPR, advertising and marketing, and consumer matters; providing legal support and training to internal teams (Marketing, Tech, Commercial, Ops etc.); championing privacy and data protection compliance across the business; and become a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and the rest of the business.
Much more information will be made available upon request by suitable candidates.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic record; 3-6yrs PQE* with training at a reputable firm; proven experience in technology, digital, data protection and general commercial law; and be an excellent negotiator with a track record of managing significant negotiations. In-house experience will be advantageous. You must also have meticulous attention to detail; a collaborative working style and the ability to develop working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; and a sense of humour!
