Job Description

Compliance Manager - Broadcast Media

Compliance Manager to support the work of compliance and government affairs department. Overseeing commercial compliance issues and licensing issues, and assisting on programme compliance issue.


  • Good knowledge of all relevant regulations in UK including Ofcom broadcasting code, BCAP and CAP codes
  • focus on commercial regulations
  • Good understanding of linear and ODPS licensing requirements, and experience in applying for licenses,
  • working with regulators on licensing requirements and reporting
  • Compliance experience in broadcast environment, implementing commercial rules and advising teams on commercial regulations

Nice to have;

  • knowledge of broadcast regulations in other European markets i.e. Netherlands


  • Respond to queries from the various ad-sales teams on advertising regulations, including viewing advertising spots and offering creative solutions to issues
  • advise the ad-sales teams on sponsorship regulations, including viewing potential channel and programme sponsorship campaigns and offering creative solutions
  • attend project meetings for new launches and advise on licensing requirements and considerations
  • Assist in maintaining the license database and in applying for new licenses or changes to licenses where required
  • Assist with Ofcom annual returns and other annual licensing requirements
  • Review social media platforms and to advise on social media compliance issues
  • Advise on advertiser funded programming, product placement and related issues
