We are looking for a .NET Developer to join an up and coming music brand, based in London, and take sole responsibility for the development and continual evolution of their ticketing platform.
This is a business that is making waves in the thriving London music scene with the events and nights that they create, promote and produce. A core part of the company is their ticketing website, which is also used by third parties, and in a competitive industry with a host of comparable platforms, the focus is on delivering a flexible, user friendly product. This is a role that would really suit someone who has a keen interest in music and culture, who wants to use their software development skills in a diverse and creative environment.
The core focus of this role will be the development, support and continual evolution of a web based ticketing application, which includes a high volume transactional site and the underlying infrastructure. You will be the sole developer in the company, so you will need to be comfortable working on your own initiative, making decisions and communicating effectively with non-technical colleagues. You will also be responsible for managing the Azure cloud infrastructure that supports the ticketing platform, and ensuring that it is scalable and able to cope with spikes in traffic.
We are happy to consider applications from people with a range of experience, as support will be given if needed, hence the wide salary banding. However as a minimum you will need a proven track record building and maintaining .NET applications using ASP.NET MVC, and as much as possible of the following;
- A strong knowledge of the .NET web framework ASP.NET MVC 4.6
- Proficiency in C#, and a good understanding of object-oriented programming
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including Microsoft SQL Server Azure SQL
- The ability to write clean, readable and easily maintainable code
- Knowledge of code versioning tools, ideally Github
- Ideally, knowledge of JQuery and Knockout.js
In addition, you will need strong problem solving skills, and you must be comfortable working on your own in a start-up environment. An interest in music would be a huge benefit as well. In return you will be given the autonomy to manage your workload and make decisions, and will have the opportunity to work from home for part of the week if you would like.
This is a great opportunity for a .NET Developer who is comfortable in their ability and who has an affinity with the creative industries to work for a successful, forward thinking company and play a key role in the development of their ticketing platform. If this sounds of interest, please contact Will Fraser at Handle Recruitment for more information.
