Job Description

Handle Recruitment are looking for a Finance Assistant to join a Media company based in London. The ideal candidate should have previous experience working as an Finance Assistant and intermediate Excel skills.

Your main duties will be:

  • Managing the Purchase Ledger:
  • Checking accuracy of invoices and VAT requirements
  • First point of contact for suppliers on invoicing and payment issues
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Creditors reconciliations
  • Preparing and managing payment runs by Bacs (weekly)
  • Preparing bank charges report at month end
  • Dealing with incoming post
  • Checking and posting expense claims/float reconciliations
  • Preparing sterling and foreign currency floats requests
  • Ordering petty cash for London and Birmingham office
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Preparing and processing manual payments
  • Any other task as assigned by Finance manager/ financial controller

Successful candidates must have

  • Purchase ledger experience, with good general accounting knowledge
  • AAT, or equivalent
  • Highly organised and a self-starter
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good Excel and Outlook skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highest level of tact, diplomacy and awareness of confidentiality
  • High level of professionalism
  • Methodical and organised approach to tasks
  • Octopus/PMI experience favourable but not essential

To be considered for this role you should have at least 1 years' experience in a Finance Assistant role .The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills.
