Job Description

Finance Manager, Business Partnering - TV

Global TV business are looking for a Finance Manager to support the Head of Business Partnering in all matters related to Content across the UK joint venture channels and EMEA territories. You will be providing business insight and value through management reporting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for effective business decision support.

Key Responsibilities:

Management reporting and financial control:

  • Ownership of month end financials preparation and reporting including
  • Programme amortisation calculations
  • Monthly Inventory balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of risks (i.e. stock impairment reviews)
  • Monthly programme creditor balance reconciliations
  • Present regular financial updates including KPIs (financial and non financial) to key business stakeholders (SVP Finance, VP Content, SVP Content and Creative)
  • Exercise a strong financial control environment by working closely with the scheduling teams, acquisition teams and legal teams to ensure appropriate Inventory and amortisation recognition
  • Lead/own continuous development projects - including systems improvement

FP&A and Business Support:

  • Take ownership for modelling quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and long-range plans, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary for Group reporting & FP&A, Senior Management, Directors and Board
  • Support review of key content contracts from a finance point of view, working with key stakeholder during the negotiations through scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Participate in regular content teams meetings, being the eyes, ears and voice of finance to advise decision making through financial insight
  • Understand the impact of key programming decisions on all areas of the business, and keep relevant parties informed
  • Ad hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant - CIMA, ACA, ACCA 1-2 years PQE
  • Experience in TV/ Film production finance or similar preferred
  • Experienced in the use of financial systems packages (SAP, BPC) and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Comfortable with large data sets, able to critically analyse and present back key themes in a succinct manor
  • Commercial Awareness - Ability to link financial results and outcomes to operational and commercial trends
  • Strong team player with demonstrable experience in building productive relationships
  • Proven experience liaising and presenting to senior management
  • Willing to take initiative and go that extra mile
  • Self-starter - Ability to take ownership and work independently, trusted to deputise HofBP
  • Excellent personal effectiveness and time management skills
