Finance Manager/Production Accountant - Entertainment - London
My client, a leading Entertainment company based in London are looking for a Finance Manager/Production Accountant on a full time permanent basis. This Finance Manager will play an integral part of the finance team responsible for the day to day finances and productions.
A real family feel, the team is close knit and works very collaboratively together. They are looking for a self motivated, driven individual who has a keen passion for the Entertainment industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with the producers and production teams to ensure accurate forecasting, planning and reporting
- Provide effective financial control and management of budgets on productions and regular cost reports to advise on any cost reductions
- Manage day to day bookkeeping across the projects and the business, processing accounts payable and receivable, chasing debtors and recharges as applicable
- Running of the weekly and monthly payroll for in house staff and production cast and crew
- Control all production expenditure by coding all expenses and incoming payments and also managing the authorisation of expenditure via established processes
- Weekly account reconciliations of all Xero accounts and projects, including the posting of manual journals and weekly/monthly accruals
- Process royalty payments and incoming statements
- Manage the company bank accounts and cashflow
- Manage UK tax payments (VAT, PAYE, Pensions etc)
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts to include a balance sheet, income statement and cashflow
- Assist in the annual audit
- Assist the Directors and external accountants to ensure timely & accurate monthly and year end close
Key skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role, including full cycle accounting
- A background within Entertainment/Media is beneficial
- Experience working in a multi currency environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to deadlines
- Knowledge of Xero is highly desirable
- IT proficient with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, self motivated and a great team player
- Strong organisational skills
