Financial Accountant - Global Entertainment - London
My client, a leading Media and Entertainment business are looking for a part qualified/ finalist Financial Accountant on a full time basis. This candidate will responsible for taking ownership of all statutory accounting, financial compliance and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the management of the statutory audit process
- Preparation of draft tax packs, statutory accounts and all related documentation through partnership with the business unit finance teams
- Liaison with finance teams in business units and tax team on all aspects of tax reporting
- Responsibility for preparation of accurate VAT returns and timely payment of VAT liabilities
- Compliance with PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) requirements
- Liaison with company secretary on board and Companies House requirements
- Assist with banking and treasury requests from Treasury and the business unit finance teams, including closure of bank accounts
- Review and settlement of inter company balances
- Co-ordination with MIS function on all new reporting requirements
- Preparation of dividend proposals for each entity as applicable
- Liaison with shared delivery centres with regard to SAP journal postings and reporting deliverable, including clearing down balances in SAP company codes as applicable
- Subject matter expert within Corporate Finance department on statutory and tax reporting processes, issues and technical updates
- Establishment of excellent relationships with the finance functions of all applicable business units
- Any other statutory and tax reporting and compliance issues as directed by management
Key skills:
- Part Qualified/Finalist ACCA/CIMA studier
- A background in Media/TV/Film would be highly desirable
- Previous experience of preparing UK GAAP Statutory Accounts
- Experience preparing VAT Returns is desirable
- Detailed knowledge of MS Office in particular MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to deadline in pressurised environments
