We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to work for a London based media business and help to provide both user and infrastructure support across a diverse and ever-evolving company.
Working for the company behind some of the most loved programs on TV, you will take responsibility for supporting their IT systems, fixing problems and maintaining IT equipment. It will be a broad and ever changing role, involving a mixture of user support, infrastructure support and project work. This a great opportunity to work for a successful media business and play a key role in helping to deliver first class IT support across the company.
The core focus of this role will be to provide first and second line support to users based across multiple locations, along with supporting the underlying infrastructure. This will mean dealing with people on the phone and face to face, managing their expectations and seeing issues through to resolution. You will be expected to take ownership of problems, and take a proactive approach to investigating and solving them. It will be a varied role, and you will be exposed to the full spectrum of technologies, so you will need to be as comfortable changing a password as you are maintaining a server.
In addition to day to day support tasks, you will also play an active role in helping to deliver IT projects. You will be expected to offer ideas and suggestions, and will have an input into decisions around technologies and processes. You will need very strong communication, prioritisation and time management skills, along with a positive attitude and the ability to work under your own initiative.
To be considered for this role you must have a proven track record of experience working in an IT Support role, ideally in a media or creative environment. In addition we are looking for the following;
- Proven experience providing first and second line IT support in a Windows environment.
- Strong experience with MS operating systems, Windows 7 and Server 2012/2008.
- Solid network configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Mac OSX.
- Experience of Active Directory, Group Policy management, DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP.
In addition you will need strong communication, influencing and project management skills.
