Management Accountant - Retail

My client, a well-known retailer, based in central London are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join their team. The Management Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and a strong support for the Financial Controller.

Main responsibilities for the Management Accountant

  • To ensure all allocated management accounts processing and reconciliations are completed within the required time frames
  • To ensure intercompany charges are processed accurately within required time frames and that all intercompany accounts are correctly valued and reconciled
  • Transaction Processing and Reconciliations
  • To revalue all intercompany P&L accounts
  • To communicate effectively with the finance teams
  • To reconcile all intercompany balance sheet account balances and P&L charges
  • review all overhead costs monthly and to process relevant prepayments and releases in the accounting system
  • To process and be responsible for the accuracy of the accruals and prepayments
  • To record all fixed assets
  • To post all payroll related journals and reconcile PAYE, Pension
  • Processing and Reporting
  • Monthly Salary/PAYE/pension journals
  • To actively develop processes and systems to ensure all balance sheet accounts, which record tender for store and/or web, can readily and effectively be reconciled

Requirements for the Management Accountant

  • Functional/technical accounting skills (ACCA/CIMA qualified with a minimum 12 months post qualified experience)
  • Experience in owning full month end processes and core reporting
  • Evidence of strong financial skills - ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers
  • Strong communication skills - ability to build relationships with different departments
  • Proficient at learning new databases/systems
  • Evidence of strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proven finance experience within a retailer
