Commercial Finance Manager, FP&A EMEA - Digital Media

The Commercial Finance Manager, FP&A will be the key 'go to' person for all complex financial modelling and will also be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis support for the Digital Line of Business across EMEA.

This high commercial role will involve:

Planning & budgeting

  • Build and maintain a long term financial model across EMEA, incl. cashflow
  • Assist the Senior Director, FP&A with overall budgeting and planning process management
  • Create the Digital section of the budget/forecast presentation, working with the Digital leads and the Sr. Director, FP&A

Lines of business

  • Provide financial planning/analytical support to EMEA digital advertising/editorial organisation
  • Provide financial support for new digital business development / growth initiatives
  • Provide analytical support to proactively assess risks/opportunities of meeting digital revenue targets
  • Model commercial digital sales funnel
  • Model underlying digital KPIs across EMEA and potential revenue impact of changes
  • Support high-level digital category and client planning analysis as required
  • Work with markets to ensure budgets and forecasts are stretching but realistic
  • Assess profitability of digital business and opportunities for improvement / financial discipline
  • Perform ad-hoc financial, commercial and operational analysis as required
  • Identify/analyse opportunities for margin improvements and operations consolidation
  • Be the key point of contact for all digital publishing financial questions

Corporate development

  • Manage M&A processes and associated data rooms and communication
  • Build market models for M&A purposes
  • Build and maintain deal pipeline/stage tracking mechanisms
  • Perform industry and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities and threats
  • Work with local finance teams to prepare of assets for diligence

Skills and experience:

  • 5-10 years' experience, predominantly within a digital publishing environment
  • Either a mix of FP&A and Financial Control experience, or experience in an investment or professional services firm
  • Experience building complex 'whole company' financial models preferred
  • Detailed understanding of digital revenue modelling
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Positive, proactive, outgoing attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Advanced Excel skills
