Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for an immediately available Production Manager/Snr Production Controller to support a busy team within a major book publisher. Role will be based remotely and will suit a candidate with experience across print/digital with an agile and solutions driven approach. Duties to include:

  • Provide support, training and advice to the team to ensure timely production of all projects, and monitor/adjust the workload across the team.
  • Recruit new staff in consultation with the Business Operations Director.
  • Be responsible for signing purchase orders for scale based products.
  • Check and code invoices via the production systems, and approve invoices signed by team up to the value assigned by the Business Operations Director.
  • Raise estimates and purchase orders via the production systems.
  • Monitor budgets and production schedules in order to achieve targets.
  • Maintain/review production systems and processes, to ensure best practice and efficiency.
  • Attend meetings to discuss progress of projects, agree budgets, processes and schedules.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Prepare technical specifications, and request, analyse and negotiate scales/non scale print prices.
  • Carry out quality checks on products being manufactured to ensure material meets divisional standards and rectify any problems.

The successful candidate will be an adept user of Biblio3 and have strong colour management experience.
