We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join a successful London based music business and take responsibility for providing technical guidance and support for potential and existing clients.

This is a very broad role, but the core focus will be to help the global sales team with any technical queries that are raised by clients. This could include working on bids and tenders for prospect clients, or working with existing clients to improve the product offering. You will be the go-to person for all technical requests, so will need to understand the products and their capabilities, and be able to deliver technical solutions.
In terms of the technology itself, a big part of it is music / audio content and metadata, so you will need to be familiar with the various data types and file formats (XML, DDEX, ID3 etc). You will need to quickly build a detailed knowledge of the technology and be able to establish the best way to integrate it with client infrastructures. You will work closely with both development and infrastructure teams, and will need to be able to offer your opinions and influence decisions. This is a client facing role, so you will be expected to be able to build rapport with customers, understand their requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
To be considered for this role, you must have a track record of commercial experience working as a Sales Engineer / Implementation Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer (or similar), ideally in a music / content delivery environment. We're looking for a broad technical skill set, client facing experience and exceptional problem solving skills. We're open to considering people from a range of different backgrounds, but we will be looking for evidence of the following;
- Experience with digital delivery of music / audio content in a production environment.
- Knowledge of music metadata formats (PRO, digital music services, record label music and metadata production).
- Experience with XML, DDEX, ID3, metadata embedding, media library management and encoding / transcoding technologies.
- Basic coding / scripting skills (SQL / Bash / PowerShell or similar).
- An understanding of networking.
In addition we are looking for people with excellent communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally, and experience proposing and delivering technical solutions.
