We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Second Line IT Support Engineer to work for a leading sporting brand, based in North London, and play a key role in supporting their ever growing user base, along with maintaining and improving their technical infrastructure.
Joining at a time of sustained growth will mean an increasing user base to support, and an ever expanding portfolio of projects to work on. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced IT support professional to develop their career in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment.
The core focus of this role will be to provide second line support for IT and telecoms systems and the company user base. This will mean dealing with escalations from the first line team, and working them through to an appropriate resolution. You will also provide support for the core business applications, and act as an experienced technical resource within the team, keeping the back end infrastructure working reliably and performing optimally.
In addition to your day to day support tasks, you will also play a key role in helping to continually improve the systems and processes. This could include working on projects to upgrade systems or deploy new products. Or it could mean investigating ways to improve the service that is delivered to the business. You will be expected to offer ideas and opinions, and contribute to decisions. You will also need to demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills; you will be dealing with people of varying levels of seniority and technical ability, and will need to provide a high level of service at all times.
To be considered for this role you must have a proven track record of experience working in an IT Support role at second line level (or similar), ideally within a large, multi-site environment. We are also looking for the following;
- A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, including Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2.
- Extensive knowledge of VMware vSphere.
- Expert use of Active Directory services and group policy.
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 / 2013 administration.
- An understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 administration.
- The ability to deploy, configure and manage Microsoft IIS administration.
- Good working knowledge of SANs, scripting tools and network topologies.
In addition, any experience with MS Dynamics, Skype for Business / Lync, Sharepoint, NPS, Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, WSUS and SCCM would be beneficial. You will also need strong communication, problem solving and time management skills, and a real passion for providing top quality IT Support.
Due to the multi-site nature of the environment, you must also have a valid driving license, and access to a vehicle would be ideal.
This is a great opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and highly technical person to develop their career in IT support in a unique, ever evolving environment. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Will Fraser at Handle Recruitment for more information.
