Job Description

A world renowned, London (West) based media and entertainment giant are looking for a Senior Communications Manager to head up two of their leading UK based initiatives. Based in West-London, this is a 12 month maternity contract and will provide exposure to two of the company's key initiatives. They are looking for a skilled communications Manager who can create integrated plans that support business goals and manage a matrix team on implementation.

 

Duties below:

Business planning

  • Identifying strategic opportunities and develop creative consumer and trade PR campaigns
  • Developing consumer and trade PR campaign strategies that meet business objectives and agreed budgets
  • Ensuring annual divisional and franchise budgets are tracked, monitored and effectively managed throughout the financial year

 

Campaign & media relations development and delivery

  • Drafting/approving regional and UK campaign plans and media materials including press releases, Q&A documents, presentations, statements and speeches
  • Maintaining excellent media contacts with a focus on key national, business and broadcast outlets plus digital media to deliver on message consumer and corporate coverage in the UK
  • Liaising with journalists to deliver on message coverage and manage the media agenda as appropriate
  • Leading by example on media relations pitching news, talent and campaigns to maximise results and ensuring the team has a focused media strategy for all activity to secure the best possible coverage
  • Ensuring internal communications are considered and delivered as part of all campaign activity
  • Close collaboration with local market PR teams to ensure they are fully briefed on day-to-day activities
  • Managing relevant Regional PR events - working closely with the local markets and events management team to ensure their successful delivery
  • Acting as the main point of contact for agencies - managing and guiding them to ensure best results and value for money
  • Reviewing campaign performance and identify learning to improve future campaign delivery and results

Stakeholder Management

  • Building and managing relationships at senior levels in the business, supporting UK and Regional Communications Directors as a point of contact for relevant franchise teams
  • Ensuring that key stakeholders are kept fully informed on coverage, potential issues and competitor activity
  • Ensuring that all media opportunities are accompanied by a thorough brief and media training is set up
  • Ensuring relevant plans are shared with the internal stakeholders to secure buy in early on and allow the business to leverage activity as broadly as possible

Management

  • Inspiring and mentoring the team to ensure they perform to their full potential
  • Prioritising workloads and provide direction on resolving any potential issues
  • Be a champion of all things digital across the team and help drive expertise in this area
  • Monitoring the news agenda closely - and demonstrate a good understanding of the industry

 

The successful candidate

  • A mixture of in-house and agency experience
  • Experience within Consumer Technology
  • Graduate level education preferred with significant PR experience
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of media campaigns
  • A network of contacts with UK media is essential with the ability to continue to build relevant relationships moving forward
  • A detailed knowledge of the UK media landscape
  • Significant people management experience with ability to mentor and inspire a team to improve skills and achieve results
  • A collaborative approach ability to form good relationships with colleagues and third party partners
  • Highly discreet and aware of the sensitivities of some information and situations
