Handle is working with a global entertainment events company to recruit a Server and Infrastructure Support Engineer with strong Linux skills.
As a member of the Business Systems and Infrastructure team you will:
Provide day-to-day maintenance of the existing IT infrastructure, including core server infrastructure across our European venues
Provide on-site support and complete migration and decommissioning projects in our venues across Europe
Maintain current knowledge of new IT hardware and software and recommend upgrades where appropriate to maintain efficient operation
Have high documentation standards, including configuration documentation for supported systems, standard operating procedures, and request for change and service incident documentation.
Be knowledgeable and have experience of Linux operating systems, primarily Debian, Ubuntu, and Red Hat.
Have experience of configuring Linux based web servers and dealing with and supporting development teams.
Be knowledgeable and have experience of the core Microsoft technologies: Windows, Active Directory, Exchange Server, etc.
Be knowledgeable and have experience in designing and implementing server infrastructure and all relevant technologies, such as high and low-level topology design, high availability and infrastructure placement based on network design
Be skilled in network technologies including having an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS and routing, and be able to troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues, etc.
Have a working knowledge of current Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7) and supporting and installing applications on these platforms
Have a positive "can-do" attitude
Be a team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment
