Storage Engineer - VMWare / server infrastructure - Broadcast
We currently have a Storage Engineer role available for a global broadcasting company. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a global and innovative broadcast company.
*responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, development, and systems administration of their storage platform (hardware & Cloud)
** primarily storage experience required with broader interest in VMWare and Server Infrastructure.
Purpose of the Role
- availability, security and performance of SAN storage, in both the production and development/QA environment.
- technical understanding of the security layers and standards
- dealing with third party vendors and other providers
- Promote best of breed and continual innovation of the storage platform.
- To provide all support lines as required by the business.
Skills Required for the Role
- SAN Storage fundamentals, design, configuration, support and retirement.
- HP 3Par working
- EMC VNX/Unity
- Creative problem solving and diagnosis
- SAN switching, design, configuration and administration
- Fabric cabling and support
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, routers, firewalls, load balancers and DNS.
Desirable:
- Working Knowledge of operating systems and hypervisors (Windows/VMware)
- Pure/NetApp Storage Grid
- CLI Familiarity
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, routers, firewalls, load balancers and DNS.
- monitoring tools - Nagios
