Job Description

Handle Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Tax Accountant to work for a hugely successful Artist Management Company based in LA. With head offices in LA and London and soon to be other areas of Europe, our client represents some of the most successful and leading Artists in the Music and Entertainment Industry.

The Tax Manager will oversee the organisation of accounting and tax information, the preparation of all tax returns, tax-related correspondence for all clients and conduct tax-related research to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

The position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation and Review of federal, multi-state, and international tax returns for individuals and businesses
  • Preparation and review of quarterly tax estimates and tax provision;
  • Preparation and review of informational tax returns
  • Handle federal, state and local tax audits
  • Perform complex tax research;
  • Preparation of research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other tax authorities and clients;
  • Preparation of tax planning and estimates
  • Assume responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns and tax planning projects,
  • Improvement procedures and practices;
  • Write articles and make presentations to internal staff and external clients

The successful candidate will be experienced within working in an accounting function specialising in Tax, International Tax (Taxation and/or MBT preferred and CPA designation preferred)

You will have proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite, Excel, Access, and Word and be comfortable dealing with senior business members and clients, including artists, management and high net worth individuals. You will be detail orientated, analytically minded and

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • BS, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance
  • 7 years tax experience required
  • 5 years of international tax related to individuals and businesses; expertise in subpart F, check-the-box, CFC, PFIC and international tax planning;
  • Experience in managing, leading and developing a team and department
  • Minimum of 2 years in competently reviewing tax returns
  • Detail oriented with high level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Familiarity with CCH, Engagement ProSystems is a plus
