One of the most unique and iconic establishments in the UK is looking for a Web and Digital Assistant to manage the day to day operations of their websites.
With a broad portfolio of sites and a large global user base, the web channels are of vital importance both in terms of generating revenue and delivering information. It is essential that they are operating at optimal performance at all times, and that is where this role comes in. This is a rare opportunity to work for a prestigious establishment with a rich history, and play a key role in ensuring their web presence is the best it can be.
The core focus of this role will be to manage the day to day running of the company websites. This will involve a diverse and ever changing range of responsibilities. You will help with the technical development of the site; assisting with the delivery of projects and helping to test new features and upgrades. You will manage the delivery of content to the site and ensure that it is optimised and that it looks great on all platforms. And you will take responsibility for measuring and reporting on the performance of the websites.
To be considered for this position you must have a proven track record of professional experience within a web environment, working as a Webmaster / Web Assistant or similar. In addition, we are looking for evidence of the following;
- Experience working with content management systems (ideally Drupal)
- A solid understanding of HTML and CSS
- A good understanding of SEO practices and search engine algorithm updates
- Knowledge of analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, and experience producing reports
- Exposure to design packages (PhotoShop), and an understanding of video formats
In addition, we are looking for people with exceptional communication and presentation skills. Experience of project management would be a major advantage, as you will need to manage your workload and prioritise in an ever changing environment. You will need to build effective working relationships with a range of different people, including internal teams and external suppliers. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and happy to go the extra mile to get the job done. Above all you will need a deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the internet and website technologies, and be able to apply this to your day to day tasks.
