We are looking for a Network Engineer who specialises in large scale wireless networks to join an international live events company, based in London.
Working as part of a talented Network Infrastructure Team, you will be the go to person for all wireless solutions, which will include designing and implementing new networks, and maintaining and developing existing ones. This is a great opportunity to join a successful company that is heavily reliant on technology, and play a key role in the design, deployment and management of the wireless network infrastructure.
The core focus of the role will be the development and maintenance of the wireless network environment, along with the design of new networks. This is a large, complex infrastructure, supporting high volumes of traffic across multiple regions. It will be a varied role, both in terms of the technologies you will be using, and the tasks you will be undertaking. There will be a good blend of BAU and project work, and you need to be able to work under your own initiative and prioritise your tasks accordingly.
We are looking for people who have experience in large and complicated environments, who are not only technically strong, but used to structured processes and security. You will work closely with team members and third party suppliers, and will be expected to use your knowledge to contribute to decisions. You will need to be flexible in your approach, and used to working in a busy, constantly changing environment. You will also need to be prepared to work unsociable hours on occasion, and travel to other European countries, depending on the needs of the business.
To be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record of experience in a Wireless Network Engineer role or similar, and you will have worked on large-scale multi-site wireless networks. In addition, you will need to be able to clearly demonstrate the following;
- Significant experience of configuring and managing Cisco wireless LAN controllers, lightweight access points and switches, Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Cisco Mobility Services Engine.
- Strong knowledge of RF and 802.11 protocols.
- Proven experience designing and implementing multi-tenant wireless network solutions.
- Strong knowledge of wired and wireless network security, including layer 2 security and layer 7 deep packet inspection technologies.
- Significant experience with RADIUS, NAC and 802.1X.
- Experience with the OSI model, transmission layer services, Ethernet technologies, TCP/IP, VRF, GRE, IP routing, IPSEC, DNS and DHCP.
In addition you will have strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment, and a positive, proactive attitude. If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you. Please contact Will Fraser at Handle Recruitment for more information.
