An exciting and innovative Media business are looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to join the business on a full time permanent basis.

This is very much a hands on role working within a small team to help run the day to day finance operations, whilst helping to implement new processes and bring fresh ideas to the growing business.

As Financial Controller you will report directly into the Finance Director, your day to day duties will include performing the month end close, posting journals and reporting. As the company are within a growth period, we are looking for someone who is happy getting stuck in and helping to implement new processes and develop their role as the company continues to expand.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and ideally have a background within the Media or Entertainment industry. We are looking for someone who is systems savvy and someone willing to delve into a new challenge with high energy and a collaborative work approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monthly processing of all transactions

  • Raising necessary client invoices

  • Organising payments of Vendors and once approved load payments into the bank.

  • Monthly bank reconciliation.

  • Additional reconciliations as required.

  • Month End Close.

  • Preparing the month end reporting pack.

  • Balance Sheet reconciliations.

  • Monthly review of project balances

  • VAT Reporting & Compliance

  • Posting of journals.

  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Key skills:

  • 2 + years of demonstrated Financial Controller or similar experience

  • Ideally a fully qualified accountant

  • Happy getting stuck in within a start up environment - implementing new processes and providing new ideas

  • Prior managing experience would be beneficial

  • A background in the Creative Media and Entertainment sector is advantageous

  • Proficient in office 365 Microsoft Word, Teams including basic Excel and Powerpoint

  • Experience of working with various stakeholders and ability to demonstrate and deliver high quality results.

  • Experience of working within international regions.
