Qualified Accountant - Leading Ecommerce - London

A leading Ecommerce/Retail business are looking for an experience Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This Accountant will be working in the Core Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller, within the Finance department under the leadership of the CFO. You'll also be working closely with the Commercial team and the Commercial Finance team.

They offer hybrid working only asking for 1-2 days in the office per week, they also have great company perks which include full remote working for 2 full months per year which allows staff to wind down and work from where they are comfortable for more balance!

Key responsibilities:

  • A highly visible Finance Business Partner to the Commercial Team

  • Ensuring we have an efficient and effective partner on boarding experience, owning the financial due diligence process

  • Ensuring adequate controls and processes are in place regarding partner and customer payments

  • Owning the day to day relationships with third party payment providers that facilitate the purchase of goods on the site

  • Maintaining strong partner relations and supporting the commercial team in resolving queries where needed

  • Minimising fraud risk and manage bad debt whilst maximising business performance

  • Finance expert on relevant projects, collaborating closely with cross functional teams and non-finance stakeholders

  • Creating transparency of our commercial cashflows, driving rolling forecasts and ensuring variances are well understood

  • Working with the Financial Controller and other members of the team to contribute to month-end close

  • Working closely with the People Team to ensure the monthly payroll is accurate

  • Assisting auditors with the preparation of the year-end audit

  • Management of a Finance Assistant, proactively supporting and developing their career

  • Contributing to other areas as the business scales and develops

Key skills:

  • Finalist or newly qualified Accountant

  • Experience within the Creative sector would be ideal but also open to Practice experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • You'll have some demonstrable experience as a business partner

  • Highly numerate with a strong attention to detail

  • Strong experience of stakeholder management, comfortable to challenge as necessary

  • Ability to work in fast paced environments

  • Eager to learn and progress with the business
