We take charity very seriously here at Handle Recruitment, and we’ve just finished our latest fundraising event. The team spent one day last week raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
The DEC unites 14 aid agencies in their efforts to finance relief for people suffering major disasters in poorer countries. Current appeals include the East Africa Crisis Appeal – supporting some 10 million people affected by the food crisis following severe drought and conflict in the region.
Six of our consultants put their culinary skills into action and produced a variety of cakes to be sold. The day was a success, with all the team buying (and eating lots!), as well as the rest of our office building coming to see what was on offer, and donating to the great cause.
We raised £300 in total, and we’re already planning our next fundraising event for this, and other worthy causes.
