🎨 NEW EXHIBITION ALERT! 🎨

This week we're celebrating the new outdoor exhibition by opera singer, Principal Artist at Royal Opera House and BBC Broadcaster Peter Brathwaite, Visible Skin - rediscovering the Renaissance through Black Portraiture.

The exhibition comes from Peter's lockdown project as part of the #GettyMuseumChallenge to restage famous paintings with household objects - Peter chose to recreate Renaissance portraits that focused on Black individuals.

"My collaboration with the Renaissance Skin research team at King’s College London represents some of the stories and lives that have remained hidden from view. I hope Visible Skin can start a dialogue that allows us all to speak about a past that is often avoided in the present." - Peter Brathwaite

11 photographs from this series will be shown until 10th December in windows across King’s Strand Campus. The images can also be found online alongside audio interpretation clips by Peter and curator Dr Hannah Murphy, Renaissance Skin Co-Investigator. View here.
