Happy carnival weekend!
This August will be the first time Notting Hill Carnival has been held since 2019, due to the pandemic.
Here is a roundup of the top events happening over the weekend…
Saturday
Rock the Boat London Carnival Party - an all-white party aboard the Jewel of London on Southbank with Mr Play, DJ Coochie, Dj Big Nito and Selecta Jigga. 12.30pm-5pm
Strut London Carnival Cruise - all the good vibes of Carnival on a boat down the Thames, 12pm at Tower Millennium Pier, EC3N 4DT
Panorama - the UK’s biggest steel pan competition, kicks off the carnival at Emslie Horniman's Pleasance Park from 6pm-11pm
Sunday
J’Ouvert - the traditional celebration before the formal start of the carnival, 6am-9am. Starting at Sainsbury’s, Canal Way, Ladbroke Grove, W10 5AA
Opening Ceremony - 10am-10.30am at the Judging Zone, Great Western Road
Children’s Day Parade and Carnival - 10.30am-5pm along the parade route
TikTok float - featuring performances from KES, WSTRN and Patrice Roberts - parading through Notting Hill throughout
Wray and Nephew Takeover - the rum brand have curated artists and DJs 12pm-7pm at Emslie Horniman's Pleasance Park
The Hot Carnival Party - an after party with Caribbean versus African colours and nine different DJs at O2 Academy Islington, 11pm- 5am
Welcome Back to Notting Hill Carnival Party - daytime party (12pm-6pm) for only £5 featuring house, RnB, hip hop, dancehall, garage, jungle and drum and bass music - at The Union Tavern, 45 Woodfield Road, W9 2BA
Monday
Adults Day Parade and Carnival 10.30am-8.30pm – parade route. 84 Mas Bands will take to the parade route to showcase their incredible costumes and 38 sound systems will play throughout the day to round off the festival.
