70% of our People Experience community feel that data isn't used to its full potential within their HR team.

Last month, CIPD released a report on improving people data, and among their key findings were some shocking gaps in the data that is collected and reviewed by companies.

  • Just 46% of organisations collect recruitment and retention data, with 33% of this reviewing it.

  • 47% collect wellbeing data, but again, only 24% review this,

  • And 56% collect data on DEI, but just 26% review it!

Which begs the question, what is the point of recording people data if it isn’t being used?

It’s certainly a mistake to see data recording as a box-ticking exercise. As People and Talent professionals, data is one of your key tools in being able to make the right strategic decisions around all the above, and should be used at every point of the employee lifecycle.
