‘Europe’s largest street party’ returns to West London this year to celebrate 50 years since sound systems were introduced.
The annual coming together of Afro-Indo-Caribbean culture brings over 2 million people to the streets of London on the August bank holiday weekend to dance, eat, and show off their extravagant costumes
When is it?
Carnival takes place on the 27th and 28th of August 2023. Sunday is Families and Children’s Day and Monday is the Adult’s Parade, with larger crowds and a longer day.

Event group Love Music Hate Racism has partnered with the National Education Union to launch a float celebrating the role of carnival as a form of togetherness amid various social and economic crises.
Carnival's youngest-ever performer Linett Kamala, who played at Carnival at age 14 in 1985, has partnered with Guinness to launch a mentoring programme supporting women in sound system culture.
Clothing brands Patta and Cortiez have released special edition Carnival merchandise, celebrating the capital's vibrancy and the influence of Caribbean culture in London.
