The next step in its multi-year creative project
This week the National Theatre announced it would be partnering with community organisations in North Kensington for a Theatre takeover day on the 8th of October.
The Director of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris, highlights the “Huge breadth of talent and creativity across the area and hopes people can be “inspired” and “learn something new” from the experience.
As well as the takeover day, National Theatre intends to offer long and short-term paid work placements for young people and learning programs for schools in the area as part of their creative vision.
What's happening?
Within the theatre itself, there will be free performances, music, workshops and talks, designed to educate people of all ages. The venue is partnering with arts education charity ACAVA, community group Power Hub, dance group Youth Action Alliance and many more exciting partnerships.
What has already happened?
The takeover day is the next step in National Theatre’s multi-year project which has provided support for the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, including the critically acclaimed new play: Grenfell: In the Words of Survivors.
