Last week we had the privilege of sponsoring and hosting UpliftTOGETHER in our Oxford Street offices. A great reminder of the power of networking and the importance of finding time in our busy schedules to connect with new and old contacts!
Our community has been itching for opportunities to get back to connecting in person to support their own personal growth and development, but traditional more corporate networking groups can often feel a little too daunting.
So, when I first heard the concept of the Uplift Together events from the amazing Amy and Christina, it resonated so much with us at Handle. Having a welcoming, informal approach to make networking less daunting and as accessible as possible provided the perfect opportunity.
The event more than delivered on this!
My personal takeaways were:
Meeting people in real life is always more meaningful than online connections and events… and much more fun!
Networking in a setting like this gives you a huge boost of confidence. Meeting new people, putting yourself in unfamiliar situations, and coming out unscathed.
The energy you get from meeting new people sparks a million ideas for future networking events, collaborations and more.
In the right setting, networking is a natural way of getting your personal brand out there without feeling too staged or forced.
And finally, when running such events, you can never have too much fizz!!! 😊
