We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant/ Bookkeeper to join one of the most highly regarded British contemporary artists team on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone who has experience with day-to-day bookkeeping including VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and cash-flow management, along with having strong use of Xero.
An ideal candidate should have an interest in the arts along with being IT proficient and have impeccable communication skills. Within this role you will be supporting with both business and personal tasks, so excellent time management is key.
Responsibilities:
Raising and preparing customer invoices
Inputting supplier invoices
Payment run preparation and making payments in the bank
Bank reconciliations
Debit and credit card management
Shopify sales management
Managing supplier relations
Dividends payouts / Director loan adjustments
Inputting stock data into the database File Maker
VAT returns
Liaising with external accountants for statutory reporting
General administrative duties
Journal entries including salary journals
Balance sheet reconciliations
Intercompany balances
Accruals & prepayments
Purchase order inputting
Cost reporting
Personal Tasks
Cash-flow Management:
Accounts payable: including household and supplier payments, staff, and personal expenses
Accounts receivable: dividends, rental income, DACS (Design and Artists Copyright Society) reporting
Bank reconciliations
Cards management - Coutts Silk credit card and AMEX
Maintaining Xero account transactions for personal tax assessment
Managing subscriptions & renewals
Skills:
Strong use of Xero, along with Advanced excel functions
Excellent time management and problem solver
Accountancy studier (ACCA/AAT)
Self-motivated and fantastic communicator
Strong interest in the arts is preferred but not essential.
