Handle are working with a leading global production company that specialises in high-end sports production, unscripted entertainment, branded content, and factual television
We are looking for a part qualified accountant with production/film or entertainment experience to join the team on a hybrid basis (4 days in and 1 day working from home)
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and various analyses for the parent company (including a New Zealand branch) and its subsidiary companies
- Preparation and posting of monthly payroll journals, analysed across various productions and overheads codes
- Calculating and posting monthly revenue deferral/accrual journals based on production records
- Calculating and posting monthly accrual and prepayment journals for both production costs and overheads
- Ownership of balance sheet, performing monthly reconciliations and investigating issues where necessary
- Responsible for maintenance of Fixed Asset registers, including calculation and posting of depreciation journals each month
- Reconciling and submission of quarterly VAT Returns for the parent company and its subsidiary companies
- Reconciling and submission of the New Zealand branch GST Return every 2 months
- Monthly Pension uploads to the Aegon Portal for the parent company and its subsidiary companies
- Assisting other teams, such as Production and Facilities, with finance-related queries
Experience:
Part Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a Production environment, with a clear understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software, with experience in Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics 365 or similar systems preferred
- Experience of using Jet Reporting would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
