Commercial Business Partner - Media/Tech

Rapidly expanding Media/Tech business are looking for a high calibre qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA Commercial Business Partner who will provide support to the VP of Sales and Commercial team, providing a link between the commercial organisation and Finance team.

Utilising financial knowledge and experience, this role will provide insightful analysis to support the Commercial team in making decisions that enhance company profitability and drive company KPI's, whilst meeting customer needs and financial reporting requirements. Analysing both the software and hardware areas of the business, the role will continue to evolve as the business grows.


  • Joint ownership of the preparation and submission of sales budget and forecast

  • Monitoring of revenue actuals vs forecast/budget. Identifying risks and opportunities and proposing actions

  • Preparation of financial analysis for new deals and revenue opportunities

  • Implementation of processes for the reporting and invoicing of new revenue streams, balancing the needs of an agile business with financial controls and processes

  • Training of finance team in new processes related to revenue

  • Preparation of Commission reports, liaising with finance for accrual and payments

  • Preparation of sales analysis as required to reflect the changing needs of the business

  • Attending Commercial meetings

  • Preparation of monthly revenue recognition and deferral journals and posting into SAP inline with month end reporting calendar

  • Regular communication of commercial activities to Finance Team

  • Supporting Commercial team in managing overhead expenses budget

Skills and requirements:

  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACCA/ACA)

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willing and able to support and influence Commercial in financial matters

  • Previous experience in a commercial finance role

  • Experience of sales forecasting and revenue recognition
