Sales and Events experience across venues?

We are working with two of London's most loved and well-known late night venues with weekly live music programmes. a cool event space and night club. These venues are known for showcasing national and internationally recognised talent in London.

Team are based in East London - Mondays working from home, Tues-Fri onsite at their venue- 10-6pm

The Sales & Events Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing all aspects of event planning and execution for our venues. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement sales strategies, build relationships with clients, and create events that align with our brand identity.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in Sales & Event management within the hospitality industry. They must understand the challenges and opportunities that come with working in a small business environment and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing Sales Strategies to drive revenue

  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Overseeing the planning and execution of events, including corporate events, private parties, and brand sponsorships

  • Monitoring industry trends and competitors to identify new opportunities for growth whilst staying competitive

  • Managing the Corporate Event team to ensure the department exceeds targets

  • Taking lead on higher spend and complex event enquiries - including carrying out site visits and meeting & greeting clients on event days

  • Continually monitoring sales performance and identifying gaps in the diary

  • Analysing current market trends and competitors to identify new event opportunities

  • Implementing proactive sales and marketing initiatives

  • Diary and yield management to maximise sales and profit at very opportunity

  • Maintaining an excellent understanding of event contracts

  • Bringing a black book of contacts to drive revenue

  • Working alongside the Venue Manager and Head of Operations to continually monitor and review team processes to ensure a seamless event journey

  • Analysing existing data and developing new to increase sales

  • Conducting follow up research with clients with the aim of securing repeat or new business for the wider portfolio

  • Leading weekly reports to the directors to include financial forecasting and event feedback

  • Working with the Directors to write and agree the annual forecast

  • Working with the Directors to plan and deliver the annual sales strategy and budget.

  • Reviewing and developing new and existing marketing and sales tools alongside the Marketing Team - including brochures, social media and website development

  • Maintaining good relationships with the preferred suppliers of the venue whilst reviewing their commercial value

  • Leading the recruitment for any Event & Sales roles required within the team

  • Leading performance management and development of direct reports, identifying training needs and guiding team development.

  • Leading on the event P&L, making sure all figures are reported accurately while protecting our margin

You'll need to have:

  • At least 4 years experience in managing an event sales team, maximising sales and achieving targets in similar venues

  • Experience of creating a successful sales strategy which includes key account management and business development

  • Exceptional commercial acumen demonstrated through the alignment of business mission, strategies and objectives.

  • Experience of managing budgets and financial reporting

  • A head for multi-tasking to manage various tasks and events

  • Working knowledge of the London venue market and key venue finding agents

  • Excellent communication skills with strong client-facing skills

  • The ability to work to short turnaround times and work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work with clients on all levels, including demanding and complex clients
