This brand new Financial Control position will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with the different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
- Generate custom financial reports for management to support decision-making processes.
- Track budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for clients
- Oversee quarterly MCPS reporting and half yearly royalty accounting for labels.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Prepare year-end accounts to final draft (excluding tax calculations and companies house submissions)
- Liaise with external accountant to finalise end of year accounts.
- Manage cash flow.
- Supervise and mentor the accounts team.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Qualifications:
- Accounting qualification ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification is essential
- Rounded knowledge and experience with Sage accountancy software.
- A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller in the music industry.
- Royalties experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Music experience is desirable but if not, media/entertainment industry experience is essential. You will have a passion for all things music and be a regular gig and festival goer!
