An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Finance Manager to join a dynamic & entrepreneurial start-up business based in Shoreditch London, in leading the finance function and managing a team of 2 in providing financial support, commercial analytics, and insights to several start-up/scale-ups.

This is a varied role ideal for somebody with accounting as a foundation and a commercial mindset, who can take ownership of a team and provide a complete suite of services from the very basics to exploring variances and working with founders to produce forward looking, scale up financial models.

The businesses, which are at various stages of development, are mainly online, consumer facing ranging from pre-revenue to scale up/series B funding.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting function, develop, and build the finance team as we scale

  • Financial reporting including management accounts, budget vs. actual, statutory accounts.

  • Analysis & Insights - proactive approach to understanding business drivers

  • Unprompted insights provided to Senior leadership teams

  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Own the business model, budgets and be responsible for forecasting and reporting across the various businesses. Develop our forecasting methods to improve business decision making

  • Credit control: ensure all invoices are paid on time ensuring automated emails and escalations to calls are timely

  • Cashflow: Understands that cash is king! manage payments and cash flow forecasting across the group to optimise and meet regularly with relevant senior management to discuss this

  • Investigate and understand variances in budgets, forecast and produce revenue forecasting with management

The ideal candidate:

  • You will have qualified with either CIMA, ACA or ACCA with a minimum of 2 years business experience.

  • Experience in a commercial industry or alternatively have experience in Start-Up to Scale-Up environments.

  • Computer literate with exceptional proficiency in MS Excel

  • Previous use of Xero Accounting software desirable
