Handle a are delighted to be partnering with a leading media and entertainment company in their search for a commercially minded Senior Finance Manager to join UK Finance team.

This is a broad and high-impact position with responsibility across commercial finance, FP&A, financial control, and process improvement. The Senior Finance Manager will play a central role in maintaining strong financial governance, delivering high-quality management information, and supporting critical business decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Finance Manager ready to step into a Financial Controller-level role within the next 6 months.

Role:

  • Coordinate and manage the month-end process

  • Oversee Accounts Assistants (AP & AR), ensuring integrity of data and inputs

  • Review and post month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, petty cash, bank reconciliations)

  • Prepare accurate and timely management reporting (management accounts, P&L analysis, payroll analysis, and ad hoc reporting)

  • Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with UK statutory accounts preparation

  • Lead preparation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC

  • Review payroll preparation, submit payment files

  • Ensure SAP/SAP ByDesign data accuracy and contribute to system and process improvements

  • Lead financial initiatives and provide commercial insight

  • Support budgeting and reforecasting processes

  • Work closely with the US Finance team on regular reporting

  • Collaborate with the UK COO on month-end analysis and performance commentary

  • Monitor P&L performance and key financial metrics

  • Present management accounts with variance analysis and commentary

  • Support the UK COO and CFO with data and analysis

  • Contribute to systems projects, process improvements, due diligence and acquisitions

  • Deliver meaningful financial insight linking results to business strategy

The successful candidate will have the below:

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a medium/large enterprise

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent)

  • Degree in Finance or Accountancy (preferred)

  • Strong SAP / SAP experience

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Power BI experience (desirable)

  • Proven finance management experience with readiness to step into Financial Controller responsibilities

  • Strong communication skills across all organisational levels
