Head of Marketing & Communications - Royal Literary Fund

Founded in 1790 under Royal Charter, the Royal Literary Fund has a distinguished history as a charity funded by writers, for writers.

As well as supporting professionals through charitable grants - a list which includes writers of every genre and many famous names - since 2000 the RLF has also employed writers to offer writing advice to the general public, including students in schools and universities, and through workplace and community groups. In 2021 it launched Writers Mosaic, an initiative to celebrate and promote the wide diversity of voices in UK writing.

With complete brand redesign starting imminently, and a new leadership team in place, the opportunity to create the new role of Head of Marketing and Communications has become available.

This is a unique and inspiring time to join the organisation, spearheading the new creative and strategic direction of marketing, covering all audience and stakeholder touch points - websites/ brand/ assets/grant-giving - expanding and diversifying the Fund's reach.

Offering autonomy in a hands-on and broad marketing-mix role, and the opportunity to shape the RLF for the future, you will work closely with the exec team and board, engaging with the writing and publishing community to communicate the Fund's mission and purpose and oversee the delivery of innovative and targeted campaigns across all communications channels including digital, print, media and advertising.

With a passion for Literature and for those who create it across all communities and genres you will bring broad marketing experience from an arts, creative or not for profit organisation.

Offering the opportunity for flexible/ hybrid working and excellent benefits including 15% employer pension contribution, this is a unique chance to join an established and welcoming organisation at the beginning of a new chapter.
