Handle Recruitment is seeking an experienced event operations professional to join a start-up events business, with a specialism in venue hire and events styling/design for a wide range of events including corporate functions, weddings and private parties.
5 days onsite in the Event Space in London
As the Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all events have an operations pack including up to date risk assessments, traffic management plans, crowd management plans & commercial plans.
- Relationship management with councils, licensing departments and local authorities.
- Managing execution of event logistics plans to support project plans.
- Working in partnership with other function heads to anticipate future operational needs, managing resources efficiently and effectively to meet requirements.
- Managing department stock and ordering process while controlling operating costs, and departmental expenses.
- Checking that the event spaces are set as per the corresponding function sheet and clients instructions.
- Seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience by gathering feedback, evaluating service levels, and developing strategies to improve areas of concern.
- Completing performance reviews, set employee goals and coach individual's development, recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff.
- Reconciliation of event budgets and reporting post-event, with all budgets to be reconciled in line and in time with internal procedure.
- Cross checking of all event plans to see if there has been adequate time management; enough staff for each job and a clear direction for each person working.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience in an operational events environment, particularly venue side.
- Leadership skills with a proven track record of effective coaching and mentoring in events.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Must hold UK Driving Licence and available for extensive UK travel and regular travel to London.
