A highly regarded music charity is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support its finance function across day-to-day bookkeeping, payments, and reconciliations. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working independently in a purpose-led, creative environment for around 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Maintain up-to-date bookkeeping on a weekly basis using Sage
Perform regular bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounts
Process purchase invoices weekly, reconcile supplier accounts, and prepare payment runs for approval
Reconcile and process monthly credit card statements, chasing supporting documentation as required
Check player paysheet calculations, prepare remittance advice, and process player payments
Assist with VAT returns, HMRC submissions, audit preparation, and ad hoc reporting
Support the Finance Manager and senior stakeholders with project and departmental reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records and filing in line with HMRC requirements
Requirements:
2-3 years minimum bookkeeping / accounting experience
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software
Experience handling foreign currency transactions
Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent (desirable)
- Available immediately / on short notice
