Payroll Accountant - Luxury Retail - Central London

A luxury retail brand are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This Payroll Accountant role will be responsible for end to end payroll for the UK entity along with working closely with both the US and France. Your responsibilities will include processing monthly payroll, monthly payroll reporting and payroll journals.

We are looking for a Payroll fanatic, someone who is ambitious, hardworking and a reliable pair of hands! The company are offering a hybrid working model with 2 days in the office and 3 from home.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process company payroll; collection of change information, commission payments and overtime hours from Retail/HR departments and input into ADP

  • Preparation of manual adjustments to the payroll where required

  • Submission and review of company payroll within ADP

  • Review and provision of information to local accountants and outsourced payroll providers

  • Preparation and posting of payroll journals for all jurisdictions

  • Perform month-end and year-end balance sheet reconciliations of payroll accounts

  • Prepare monthly payroll reporting for audit purposes, including headcount & full time employee analysis

  • Create pension analysis and upload pension information

  • Set up BACS payment of PAYE and NI, taking into account childcare vouchers and attachment of earnings orders

  • Deal with ad hoc employee payroll queries

  • Complete ad hoc forms from external bodies relating to employees' earnings

  • Scope to get involved in other areas such as VAT in various jurisdictions, other reconciliations, and management accounting.

Key skills:

  • At least 3 years' experience working with multi-jurisdictional payroll

  • Understanding of basic accounting (p&l, balance sheet, debits and credits)

  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential

  • ADP iHCM and SAP desirable

  • Excellent attention to detail and respect for confidentiality

  • Able to confidently communicate with people at all levels

  • Proactive and able to work on their own initiative and self review

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard working individual
