We’ve had an incredibly busy start to 2017 here at Handle Recruitment - we’ve placed a record number of candidates in exciting, high profile roles ranging from executive up to director-level. The great news is there is no sign of slowing down in the creative industries and as a result, we are on the lookout for more hot talent! We are always keen to register new candidates who are seeking their next role, whether for temporary or permanent positions.
Most of us at one point or another in our job search have been invited in to meet with a recruitment consultant to register, even if there isn’t an immediate role that suits our skillset or requirements at the time. This may sound futile or even a waste of time, so why do we do it? What can you gain from it as a candidate - and is it even worth your time?
Here are our top tips as to why you should come and see us!
Advice - We can assess your CV and interview style, and let you know where your development areas are and how to build on these.
Preparation - We can help you prepare for your upcoming interviews, particularly with key factors such as your body language and preparing great answers for in-depth competency questions.
To build trust and a working relationship - It's more than just putting a face to a name – the benefits of working exclusively with one consultant is that they become your trusted advisor, not just through this recruitment process, but to help in your future career moves too.
To showcase your talents in the best light - At Handle, we specialise in brand fit as well as skillset, so it’s vital to get a sense of you as a person. We always take a consultative approach and pride ourselves on knowing what our clients and candidates really want. This is particularly important and effective if your work experience and CV does not quite tick all the boxes that a client has requested, but we still believe you are the right person for the job. To speed up the process - If we have a job come through and we’ve already met you and have built a profile for you, all we need to do is brief you on the position and check that you would like to apply, then, in some cases this can result in an interview that same day.
On the hotlist - We speak to many candidates over the phone on a daily basis, so despite our organised database and regardless of how great our chat was over the phone we’re reluctant to present clients with candidates that we have never met.
