Independent film steps into the spotlight as the 2025 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) nominations are announced - a snapshot of the talent shaping UK cinema right now.
Founded in 1998, BIFA has championed the best and most innovative independently funded British filmmaking for over 25 years, working at the heart of the industry to nurture emerging talent, promote fair practice, and develop a broader, more inclusive audience.

It’s another strong year for original storytelling and boundary-pushing craft across the UK’s screen sector, held at the Roundhouse Trust in Camden on Sunday 30th November 2025.
