Senior Production Finance Manager - Theatre

We're working with a growing theatre company based in Woking, looking for a Senior Finance Manager to lead the Production Finance function and support a busy portfolio of live productions. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for a team of four, combining production accounting, technical accounting, tax, cash flow and stakeholder management. Responsibilities: Oversee weekly production reporting, providing General Managers with a clear view of pre-production costs, running profits and show-by-show performanceLead and manage a team of 3 production Finance professionals, ensuring timely and accurate production accountsOversee monthly management accounts, group reporting and production profit forecastsManage and oversee production, group, SPV and investor cash flow forecasting and reportingEnsure appropriate technical accounting treatment is applied across productions, including consolidation, equity accounting and level of control considerationsOversee taxation and compliance requirements across productions, including Theatre Tax Relief and other relevant production tax mattersEnsure statutory accounts and tax returns are completed accurately and on timeAct as a key point of contact for the annual audit, working closely with auditors and senior finance stakeholdersReview weekly payment runs and work closely with purchase ledger and payroll teams to ensure effective transactional processingContribute to budgeting and reforecasting processes, maintaining accurate show-by-show profit forecastsIdentify and lead process improvement initiatives, making effective use of existing and new finance systemsProvide technical accounting and tax advice to the Productions team and wider business Requirements:ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountantStrong experience within live entertainment, theatre or production financeProven experience in production accounting, ideally across multiple live productionsStrong understanding of the technical accounting, taxation and compliance requirements relevant to live productions, including Theatre Tax ReliefPrevious line management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a teamComfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering accurate work to tight deadlinesExperience of process improvement and finance systems, with a track record of improving processes and ways of workingStrong Excel and financial reporting skillsMust be able to commute to Woking and work in the office 3 days per week Handle actively welcomes applicants from under-represented backgrounds - we pride ourselves on attracting the best talent for every opportunity through a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Handle are currently working with a hugely popular, global entertainment brand who are looking for an experienced EMEA Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across 12-14 countries (excluding the UK) within a large, multinational organisation.This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of payroll professionals while overseeing the delivery of accurate, compliant payroll through outsourced payroll providers. You'll play a key role in driving payroll transformation, process improvements, and ensuring governance, controls and statutory compliance across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.Key responsibilities:Lead, coach and develop a team of Payroll Analysts.Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple EMEA countries.Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders.Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, reporting and audit readiness.Drive payroll projects, system enhancements and continuous process improvements.Act as the escalation point for complex payroll and vendor issues.Promote best practice, standardisation and operational excellence across the region.About you:Payroll management qualification or equivalent experience.Proven experience managing multi-country EMEA payroll within a large, complex organisation.Strong knowledge of EMEA payroll legislation, compliance and payroll governance.Experience managing outsourced payroll providers.Strong leadership, stakeholder management and change management skills.Exposure to SAP Payroll or similar HRIS/payroll systems is highly desirable. An exciting opportunity for an experienced UK Payroll professional to join a high-performing, centralised Payroll function within a large, complex international organisation.We're looking for a Payroll Analyst to take ownership of accurate and timely UK payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid correctly and all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.Working closely with the UK Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the UK payroll, while acting as a technical escalation point and supporting process improvements across the wider EMEA Payroll function.Key responsibilitiesManage end-to-end UK payroll processing and ensure accurate payment by published pay dates.Review and approve payroll calculations, inputs and outputs.Manage BACS processing, payroll journals and post-payroll activities.Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including statutory payments and HMRC requirements.Analyse payroll variances and investigate discrepancies.Resolve complex payroll queries and act as an escalation point for the wider payroll team.Support SAP Payroll issues, upgrades, testing and system enhancements.Produce and approve statutory, management and periodic payroll reporting.Support internal and external audits, payroll projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Work closely with internal stakeholders and external payroll partners to improve processes and efficiencies. About youStrong experience working within an in-house UK payroll environment.Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.Strong understanding of payroll journals and how payroll feeds into financial reporting.Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.Professional, discreet and comfortable handling confidential information.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.SAP Payroll/SAP Finance experience is essential.Payroll qualification or part-qualification is desirable, with a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in payroll.Experience with payroll audits and Workday would be beneficial.
